What is CrossFit? Taking fitness to new heights and taking the world by storm, CrossFit is a vigorous strength and conditioning training regimen. A full body workout described as a concentrated shot of exercise, CrossFit combines weight training, gymnastics, sprinting, and aerobics in a fast-paced routine typically lasting 15-20 minutes.
CrossFit is also the principal conditioning program used in police academies, special operation military units, and tactical operations teams, and is used for training by martial artists and elite athletes around the world.
CrossFit training takes place in an empty “box,” as opposed to a apparatus-rich gym with treadmills, TV screens, and more. The workout of the day is known as the WOD, which can be created by instructors or taken from the CrossFit.com website. The workouts include a warm-up and cool down with the WOD in between.
